2026. November 12.

What is marriage? Why is it pivotal that we preserve this ancient institution founded on the union of one man and one woman? What are the societal consequences of redefining marriage, and how are the political, legal and cultural changes unfolding before our eyes in Europe challenging the concept of the family?
Over the past decade and a half, Hungary has played a significant role in defending the traditional understanding of marriage and family rooted in Christian values. Today, however, these values, which are fundamental to our civilization, face unprecedented social and ideological challenges.
The Axioma Center’s international conference will explore the nature of marriage, the social significance of the family, and the question of national sovereignty from the perspectives of the Christian faith, philosophy and the social sciences. Alongside examining contemporary debates and challenges, we will also seek to highlight the beauty of marriage, motherhood and fatherhood, as well as the indispensable role of the family in the lives of individuals and communities.
The conference will feature Mark Regnerus, Professor of Sociology at the University of Texas at Austin, as the keynote speaker. We warmly welcome everyone who cares about the future of marriage, family and the common good in Hungary, Europe and beyond.
Attendance is free of charge, but advance registration is required.
